Why does a 12 year old need such an expensive instrument? We have searched for a less expensive violin that meets Emerson's talent and performance needs. There are relatively few quality 3/4 size instruments available as luthiers devoted their best efforts to full size instruments.

I can't afford that, can I buy a partial share? Technically, we cannot do that in an LLC. But, you can form a small group to buy a full share together.
Can I purchase more than one share? Yes, we encourage you to invest as you are comfortable.
Is this a gift? No, this is an investment. Investors buy a fraction of a violin that Emerson will use. If you decide you need your money back before we dissolve the corporation, you may sell your shares to another party.
Will the shares appreciate in value? Instruments of this quality will hold their value, and appreciate over a long period. Emerson will need this instrument for about 2-3 years, not enough time for appreciation to occur. However, if it does, the gains will be shared by all members.
What happens when she needs a larger instrument? Our research indicates that her first full size instrument should be attainable at a similar cost, minimizing the need for too much additional capital.
How long will the corporation last? We expect to continue operation through Emerson's school years.
Will the instrument be insured? Yes, within the corporation.
